Website Philosophy

The development of the web site www.ikonosheritage.org has gone through a continuous phase of testing, monitoring and re-evaluation as pertaining to the needs of the project. Care was taken to present the information and material in the website in such a way that navigation is facilitated and the content is presented in a structured and organized manner. All content is easily accessible and usability guidelines were followed according to the "Handbook for quality in cultural Websites" as published within the EU Minerva network www.minervaeurope.org

Accessibility for certain levels of disability was also given due consideration, based on the WAI guidelines on accessibility, published by the W3C Consortium.

Speed of download for easy access by all persons visiting the site was a predominant website characteristic also discussed, and the relevant interoperability issues relating to it were thus implemented. The ability for users to provide feedback at various levels of usability is supported through the facilitated use of forums and contact pages.

This website has been designed & developed by the Malta Centre for Restoration
