Cataloguing of Cultural Heritage Artefacts

What are the specific objectives of this subproject?

• To create a database tailor-made for the artefacts selected according to the criteria established
• To present a real model for the common approach and test its applicability
• To design and build a website creating easy accessibility to the database

What methodology has been adopted for the success of this sub-project?

The methodological approach taken was used as a test-bed for sub-project 1 highlighting possible pitfalls in the design and the technology applied. Over 200 artefacts including archaeological and architectural sites and monuments have been documented, complete with digital images and categorized according to the database criteria.

A website has been designed according to internationally approved usability standards, for easy access to the data bank containing relevant information about the cultural heritage artefacts.
