Sub Project 4
Training of Trainers
What are the specific objectives of this subproject?
- To identify and set internationally recognised pedagogical standards for distance teaching and learning
- To identify and develop teaching methods and materials conducive to distance learning programs
- To establish specifications of the multimedia distance learning package
- To adapt existing courses for distance learning
- To select appropriate response measurement techniques to gauge trainers' and students' response to the courses
What methodology has been adopted for the success of this sub-project?
Relevant research has been carried out in order to establish pedagogical standards for distance learning. These have led to the preparation of two manuals for Cultural Heritage Courses by distance learning. A number of seminars and workshops for the trainers as part of their training into utilising the technology available for distance learning courses have also been conducted. A review of multimedia platforms for use in distance education programs has also been carried out using one specific platform for use by the trainers as part of a pilot study for the eventual migration and implementation of the online cultural heritage courses. A research into the response measurement techniques to be carried out with trainers and students has also been carried out.
